With the retirement of Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX), Texas’ 8th Congressional District is wide open and generating lots of coverage. It has also drawn the attention of a big name in Texas politics: former governor Rick Perry.
Perry will be coming to Montgomery County to campaign for CD-08 candidate Morgan Luttrell on Saturday, October 30. The occasion is the grand opening of Luttrell’s campaign office in Magnolia.
Luttrell is the brother of Lone Survivor author Marcus Luttrell. But while Marcus is the better known of the brothers, Morgan has an impressive career of military service in his own right. Morgan Luttrell served honorably in the Navy SEALS for 14 years.
After retiring from the Navy, Luttrell would later go to work under Perry in the Trump Administration. He currently teaches law enforcement classes at Sam Houston State University and resides in Magnolia with his wife and two sons.
The campaign headquarters opening will be an opportunity for voters to come and learn more about Luttrell and how he would represent CD-08 in Congress. Attendees will also hear from Perry why he is supporting Luttrell.
Those interested can RSVP for the event here. To learn more about Luttrell, visit his website at morganluttrell.com.
