Texas Right to Life, the state’s premier pro-life organization, has received a bomb threat at their Austin office. The pro-life organization is cooperating with local police as an investigation is launched into the threat, which is actually the second such threat they have received since SB 8, Texas’ Heartbeat Bill, was passed.
Texas Right to Life was the architect of the Heartbeat Bill, and has advocated for many other pieces of pro-life legislation in past sessions. They are the Lone Star State’s oldest and largest pro-life organization.
“Our new Austin office, housing Texas Right to Life’s legislative department, has received a direct bomb threat,” wrote Texas Right to Life President Elizabeth Graham in an email to supporters. “So far, no one has been hurt and hopefully that will stay the case. We are coordinating with Austin PD, Bellaire PD, and the FBI to identify the validity of the threat made.”
According to Graham, after a short tirade, the writer of the letter makes a menacing declaration:
“LETS BOMB TEXAS FOR LIFE [sic] AND CHANGE IT TO – TEXAS FOR DEATH.”
Still, Graham and the other people at Texas Right to Life say they are undeterred.
“If there is anyone who thinks that this death threat will stop us, they are sorely mistaken. Our lives belong to God and no other,” said Graham.
