Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. 18 U.S. Code 2383
Lawyers who disguise themselves as Statesman are often just lying politicians…
In the context of all the hyperbolic and bucolic stupidity of Chuck Schumer and company comparing the January 6, 2021 protesters as the greatest threat to Democracy since the Civil War, one salient truth should disturb all liberty loving patriots–when you misapply the Law, terrible outcomes can occur that put all of our civil liberties in jeopardy. We do not know how many Americans are under arrest and being permanently detained for being inside the Capital on January 6th. A neighbor against neighbor media campaign designed to find the insurrectionists has ruined untold lives with the help of too many citizens across the country. Too many libertarians call those who protested the outcome of the election, buffoons or simpletons… No, they were Americans who were disturbed by an election that defied almost all conventional wisdom.
Who will speak up for those who are imprisoned under a misapplication of federal law? Do these Americans forfeit their basic constitutional rights? Even if you feel they were misguided, disturbing reports are emerging that these citizens are being re-educated about their actions.
The government can not answer basic questions anymore it seems. Who shot Ashli Babbett? Who ordered the Capital police to stand down? Where are these insurrectionists being held? Why isn’t the government able to answer these basic questions?…
Every American should be concerned with conflating Protest with Insurrection. In supposedly open minded and peaceful Canada, the government has codified in law that only they decide this distinction.
The Tyranny of the Majority is needing to be taught in elementary schools now more than ever. Instead, we go down the road to serfdom with Critical Race Theory that makes kids hate each before they can critically think. It is indoctrination of the worst sort. All emotion and no historical context except history is a tale of oppression with no redemption and permanent grievance.
A Republic has rights. A democracy need not have any. We need answers to basic questions before I believe anyone about January 6th because of the deep implications it has about our liberties. I hope everyone ponders our Constitution as we celebrate the Fourth of July.
God Bless America and its ideals.
